Slacking Lately...

For you loyal followers (both of you), I do apologize for my recent laziness.  It seems that I have been a lacking in desire.  Between work, home, all of the other social stuff, my blog is kind of last in my list of priorities..  My intention in the beginning was to post up some of my old pictures of kustom and hotrod shows.  Maybe not from the 40's,50's and 60's, as I wasn't born till 73.  But from a time when nobody knew what a kustom was, except the folks that were there the first time.  Before you went to car show and saw a bunch of dudes rolling around with their latest car coats on, then watched them pile into their Nissan Sentra and head home.  Or the time, before the car magazines featured the cars, not the nasty tattooed skank with a pry bar through her forehead rocking her latest Hot Topic cherry dress.

I am going to try and get back to business, posting some pictures, sharing some storys and probably a couple mindless rants.

 

Too many projects......

Spied this kool little BBq at the Grand National Roadster Show this year.  The idea is pretty simple in this case. 

I have had this thing in my stash of stuff for a while.  My plan for this was for something similar in fashion, although my ideas were a little more advanced.  Rather than going wood burning, I was going to use propane.  The propane would hopefully keep the heat down somewhat, so that I could do some crazy paint work on it, and not melt the clear on the sides.  The trunk is still useable as is, but I would split the front section up into half BBQ and the other half....  ???  This is where it stopped...

Kool T-Bird

Spied this kool T-bird at the GNRS this year.  Ordinarally, I despise not running a Y-block in a Ford of this vintage.  This, my friends is the exception..

It is unfortunate that life sometimes will get in the way of mindless posting of photographs and commentary in the Internet.  I hope that I can get back into this blog thing, as I have missed it. 

We will start slow with a couple shots from this years Grand National Roadster Show..

The Way It Should Be Done....

No big secret that I am a HUGE fan of a Ford produced OHV engine that was mass produced BEFORE the small block Chevrolet, that everyone adores, except myself.  I am used to the ridicule of those diehard bowtie freaks that think I am crazy to put Y-block Fords in my vehicles.  I have also made a ton of money off of those people who threw away these motors and parts, then called me 5 years later looking for this stuff, because they want to be kool like me....  If people like me had an organization or cult for this following, this guy would be our leader.... 

He is the "go to" guy when it comes to making horsepower out of one these so called "boat anchors".  Known on many social groups as "Y-Block Guy", Tim Mc Master has been building and racing these motors for quite some time.  I recently was able to catch up with him a little at Eagle Field.  He came equipped with his slingshot Y-block dragster being towed by his equally impressive Y-block powered Ford longbed.  This truck is a strong runner in itself, with a motor that beats any of mine, and it is his tow vehicle.  Also, he enlisted a buddy Todd Jolliff, with his beautiful 56 T-bird, with long tube headers and a some what stock, (with a sweet exhaust note) 3 pot Y-block in it as a tow car for the return road.  He also brought 2 very lovely back-up girls, to assist with getting the car back in the groove. 

Cruizin 4 a Cure

One of my good pals, and Headhunter brother, Jeff Walker is a cancer survivor.  I had never participated in this show, usually due to work schedules.  This year Rana and I were able to take both cars over.  Man, what a great show.  We had a good time, despite the wet grass...
